Hello Monday morning - back to the job search! So much to do, what with reformatting my resume and trying to put together a portfolio of sorts. I've got several irons in the fire - spread yourself around they say :-)
I just posted several photos of various projects that I've completed in the last 2 or 3 months! They can be seen by clicking the "Crafts" page.
I was released approximately 49 hours after having the TAVR procedure, on April 24th! 2 days is NOT long enough in the hospital for sure - maybe 4 would be more reasonable. I am only on here long enough to do a new post - not feeling great enough yet to sit on the computer for long.
On April 22, 2014 I will be having heart surgery. Originally I was going to have to have open-heart surgery, but due to the condition of my aortic valve, open-heart is not possible. I will be having a TAVR procedure instead. (Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement)
To date, only about 20,000 people world-wide have had this procedure done. I am also one of the youngest to have it.
To read more about the TAVR procedure please visit the American Heart Association website.

I've been crafting various things recently, like decoupaged light switch and electrical plates, and all-occasion wreaths. Soon they will be ready to sell. Haven't decided if I'm going to sell through this site, or re-direct you to an e-commerce site / store that I already have so STAY TUNED for this! Nevertheless, I will post photos of everything I create!
I will also be setting up a little kiosk at City Market next year to sell my things! Can't wait to see everyone there!
As most of you know, I've been seeking FULL-TIME work for nearly 3 years. All I've been able to find are part-time, seasonal, and "Temp" jobs. A couple paid minimum wage while one that I had for 11 weeks paid a whopping $10.00 an hour. Don't get me wrong now - I was grateful to even HAVE a job. Mainstream media keeps reporting that the economy is improving...REALLY? "Unemployment is down to 8.2 percent." REALLY? I think it's more like double that number.
For nearly a month now I've been working as the new manager at a property in Kansas City, KS. This job is through an employment agency/staffing firm. It's part-time only, with no potential to go full-time, therefore I am NOT eligible for benefits of any kind...
I have many "irons in the fire" if you will. One of those contacted me yesterday for a telephone interview, which I passed successfully. I will be interviewing with them next week. Not wanting to put the cart before the horse mind you, but I know I will land this job. Not going to mention the company name just yet, but they are a huge company with offices in nearly every city nationwide. The salary offered is excellent, with many benefits and perks. A VERY comprehensive, in-depth management training program as well so I am EXCITED about it to say the least!
Updates on this at the end of next week!
Hey everyone! Recently I've been wanting to try and have my paternal grandmother, Nanaw's, original 18 grandkids contribute to our family photo album here. On my site, you won't have to go through an elaborate acceptance and confusing log in stuff - test it for me and see. Try to leave a comment on anything you see on my BLOG link, and let me know if you have problems, or what it asks you to do in order to leave a comment. I think it just wants your first name, email address and comment!
I want everyone to get to know a young woman by the name of Catherine Bleish - keep your eye on her; she's going to make a name for herself in the public eye - please check out her foundation here.
The page will open up to her biography but please click on the "About" and "Home" links on her site, so you can learn what she is really doing. She is having a huge impact! I am proud to know this young lady personally, and only want to see more Americans start speaking out. Think about how our government is being run. It's being run by greedy, power-hungry people who DO NOT have the American people's best interests in mind, even though they keep telling us they do - lies, all lies.
Right now I'm in the process of studying & researching as much as possible so that I know my facts. I would like to get together a bunch of folks to go to Washington and politely yell at our elected officials.
